About Me

  Nicola Parkhouse
         Here's my                  story...

My name is Nicola Parkhouse, I live in Kent (the beautiful 'Garden of England.') I have two grown up sons who live with me, Blake and Charlie, my partner, Calvin, and my two dogs, Angel and Scooby. I work as a Teaching Assistant in a wonderful school in Maidstone.

On the 28th October 2017 (My Birthday) I self published my first children's rhyming picture book, Morris the Stealing Magpie, which was Illustrated by the amazing Joseph Hopkins. I felt like a child again as I watched my story come to life with every illustration drawn. It truly was a magical feeling.

Ideas for my stories come to me anytime, any place, anywhere - I could be at work, at home, in the bath, gardening or walking the dogs. For this reason, Calvin bought me a dictaphone, this ensures I never forget an idea. I have been known to wake up in the early hours and type ideas into the note pad on my phone.

In total, I have published six books with 'Trouble in the Alphabet' being my first ever author/illustrator book. I have written many other stories and have jotted down verses and ideas for three others! I cannot wait to publish more books.
